Shin had never liked ships, at least not the ones that traveled long distances. He didn’t mind the small ferries inland that would take you across the wide spot on a river, or across a lake. But the large three mast merchant ship he was now on, while easily the largest ship he had ever been on, was tiny and insignificant when he compared it to the might of the sea. At times during the trip Shin was sure the large waves were going to send them all to their deaths at the bottom of the ocean. But it hadn’t and that was no doubt due to the skill of the crew which Shin was ultimately thankful for.
Kakita, a very Cizokian like name Shin noted, was slowly coming into better view. The closer they got the more Shin was able to piece out what the city looked like, at the moment all he saw was the larger buildings on the coastline, the people were mere ants moving about the backdrop of the city. Based on the stories he had heard from others on the merchant ship he was lead to believe that the culture was somewhat similar to his own, which Shin hoped would aid him in fitting in.
Shin still wore his large black with blue trimmed overcoat and matching boots. At first, after previous events, he hadn’t been sure if he was still going to where it but given it’s ability to hide him from Shades, which had still lingered on the other continent, he thought it wise. Second, it helped to hide his blue hair. At his hip he wore katana, which one hand rested comfortably on out of habit while the thumb on his other hand was hooked around the belt of his coat. He also wore a second katana, this one across his back with the hilt protruding out from coat over his right shoulder.
He stood near the front of the ship, staring out from under the cowl of his hood. He wondered if he would be able to find a new life here, surely he could become a sell-sword again, but that no longer appealed to him. He could also be a bandit…but again that was not something he wanted for himself. It struck Shin then that he had very little skills besides his skill with the blade, perhaps he would remedy that here he mused.
