Noteworthy Information: Fourem is a subtle man, his presence would hardly be noticed, but for his elegant armor and sophisticated mannerisms. Often quiet by choice, Fourem tends to remain aside conversations preferring to listen, rather than join in. However, he is not an anti-social man, as some would perceive him to be. To the contrary, he enjoys the company of others greatly, though he would never be caught expressing this aloud. He is good humored and relatively friendly, though he spares not a moment in striking down would be enemies and adversaries. Fourem is, however, quick to jump into a conversation if he feels it is his place to do so. His devotion to the Varden army, as well as that of his precious ThornCourt Knights, is rivaled only by his love for his wife Rinya, whom he as been with for several years. Though Fourem is a Lord Holder himself, he still regards Cyan as "His Lord", an example of his respect for him as well as a courteous gesture on his part.

Battle Statistics:
[As will become apparent as you read, Fourem's armor and accessories are a part of a set named the Thorn's Pieces and are unique articles with no copies.]
Weapon 1; Thorn's Beholder - A lightweight, but very sturdy long sword, crafted specifically for his use.
Weapon 2; Thorn's Denier - A spear made entirely of a steel alloy composite, strong and razor sharp on both ends of the double tipped weapon.
Armor Other; Thorn's Will - A three foot tall tower shield with a similar design as that of the plate mail, the same emblem engraved in the center.
Armor Head; Thorn's Crest - A versatile helmet, made in the relative shape of a dragon's head. The ears of the 'dragon' form points that protrude upward from the helmet.
Armor Neck; Thorn's Bile - A splendid gorget, engraved with a dragon scale pattern that continues down toward the chest plate and up toward the helmet, the scale's pattern lining up with each.
Armor Body; Thorn's Breast - The most dazzling piece in the set next to Thorn's Crest, Thorn's Breast is a marvelously engraved plate mail armor. The dragon scale pattern fades slightly toward the middle, revealing a crest in the shape of a horizontal crescent moon, embraced by two dragon wings, which sprout from either end of the emblem. The dragon scale pattern on the back of the plate mail is the same as that of the rest of the armor, while the scale pattern on the chest is more blended together in a slight fade.
Armor Arms; Thorn's Faith - A pair of elaborately designed gauntlets, which portray the forearms of a dragon.
Armor Legs; Thorn's Reprieve - A set of dragon scale engraved steel alloy shin guards and a hip skirt that hangs over the thighs, allowing for maximum protection of the groin and joint area of the mid and lower portions of his body. Like the rest of the set, the metal of the shin guards is comprised of an alloy composition of steel and another, unknown metal.
Armor Feet; Thorn's Haven - A pair of metal plated leather boots, which allow for maximum bend and speed compensation in battle. The steel plates are engraved with the same scale pattern as the rest of the set, with claw shaped tips near the toe of each boot.
[The entire set is dark blue with a teal blue accent to it. The armor, though made primarily of a relatively unknown metal, is surprisingly light weight. It should also be noted that maneuverability while wearing the armor is not an issue, as it is so well made to custom fit his body, that his movements seem to go entirely unhindered.]

Special Skills:
Electromagnetic Manipulation; The process of altering the patterns of electromagnetic waves and manipulating them into their desired forms and actions as he sees fit. This is limited, however, as it can only be controlled when there are high levels of electromagnetic energies abundant in the area, such as during storms.
Ethereal Energy Manipulation; The act of controlling pure energy through a process of channeling the desired amounts of said energy into the desired and appropriate purpose for the situation. This is limited to how much energy his physical form can withstand.
Physical Manipulation; The act of concentrating high density light within the pigments of his skin to alter his outward appearance, often times to the affect of masking his form from view.
Mental Perception; The act of altering his perceptions of the world around him, though he can see, hear, taste, smell and touch like a normal human, his senses can be heightened to levels far beyond. This often includes the ability to hear telepathic transmissions, as well as an extra sensory perception utilizing changes in the electromagnetic fields around him. Ultimately, this means that he can 'sense' what is happening around him in any direction to even the slightest change in physical manifestation, or even chemical reactions.
Phase Enchantment; Phase Enchantment is an enharant skill aquired by Fourem through tedious meditations, which is actually a spell, in most definitions of the term. Phase Enchantment's general use is for binding and redirecting energy based attacks of enemies. Energy produced by an enemy is bound to their form, meaning that if it is cast forth it will instead turn upon its caster.
Attacks:
Dark Judgment; Dark Judgment is a combination of gravity and electromagnetic energies combined into a moderately sized sphere, which holds a liquid appearance. This Dark Judgment sphere radiates with a dark blue and black aura in what seems to be a rippling embodiment of all the wrongs of the world. Moreover, extensions of electromagnetic energy seem to escape from its surface and dance upon it like small bolts of lightning. The sphere, upon contact with its target, expands, releasing its withheld gravitational and electromagnetic properties upon the victim.
Holy Retribution; Holy Retribution is a combination of ethereal energies and a chemical reaction of nitrogen, both fused into a sphere, which Fourem tends to wield as a secondary weapon, as it hovers over the palm of his hand. Fourem's Holy Retribution attack can either be used in a hand to hand method, or as a projectile. Contact with the sphere by any substance, results in the instantaneous freezing and atomic decomposition of said substance, as the particles of whatever it touches become frail being further assaulted by the ethereal energies of the attack.

Title: Thorn of Wyverns

Background Information: Thorn and Fourem's spirit have been bonded since Thorn's birth. Fourem, at the time, an angelic presence, was the only none wyvern/dragon presence allowed within the incubation chambers. Thorn, knowing Fourem in his angelic form, instantly recognized him in his humanoid shell and the two have been nearly inseperable since. Esentially, it could be said that Thorn is the last of his kind, as no known dragons currently exist on the continent, but as Thorn is the ONLY one of his kind it would be false to state such a claim. A hybrid, Thorn is welcome in the lairs of both dragons and wyverns alike, as such he has been known to act as an intermediary between the two species.

Noteworthy Information: Thorn is Fourem's personal companion, often acting as transportation for the lord. Like the rest of the wyverns, Thorn has been raised and trained specifically for war, his keen senses and well toned fighting skills are ideal for questionable climates and weather conditions. [You will notice that my wyverns differ substantially from "Novel Wyverns", especially in size, as they are about the size of a large war horse. Where as, the wyverns that I have read about are no bigger than a moderately sized bird. I refer to the Pern© series.] Thorn, like the rest of his family, is capable of combat while bearing a burden. However, as would be expected, his skills excel in more unburdened situations, as the rider would no longer become a concern and the wyvern's innate "Rage Induction" ability could be utilized to enhance his speed and strength. There is, however, a difference between Thorn and the rest of his kind. As he is a hybrid, a breed between dragon and wyvern, Thorn IS still capable of flight. However, extended journies with a rider are taxing, thus Fourem often spares Thorn the discomfort of flight in exchange for longer journies afoot.

Weapons:
Claws: Wyvern claws are sharp, durable and replaceable. In the event that one should break off, which is extremely rare, another will grow back in its place. Wyvern claws are highly valued and trappers often seek out these rare treasures and sell them throughout the ThornCourt region and abroad.
Teeth: Wyvern teeth are razor sharp, often holding a diamond like strength consistency to them.
Tail: Wyvern tails come in a variety of styles, each having their own uniquely shaped "weapon" on the end. Thorn's tail wields a barbed end that oozes with a neuro-toxic substance, which often has a paralyzing affect on any living creature that it strikes, rending muscle tissue to a consistency of pudding.
Scales: Wyvern scales act as both a weapon and a defense, as they are extremely sharp and durable, anyone not accustomed to the creatures might well lose a finger, or several just in touching one. It takes a rider of superb mental recollection to ride one of these creatures properly, lest a rider move in an incorrect manner and lose their leg. Special care and concentration must be practiced.

Attacks/Breath Weapons:
[These apply to all wyverns and each one is immune to one specific kind of breath weapon, only.]
Breath of Flame: A chemical reaction occurs within a special bladder of a wyvern's digestive system allowing for the process of combustion to occur and create extended streams of liquid fire to be spewed from the mouth and nostrils of the creatures.
Breath of Ice: A substance similar to liquid nitrogen is stored in a separate bladder of the digestive system, the substance is continuously replenished, as the rest of them are, and has an adverse affect of freezing any and all other substances into a preservative state.
Breath of Thunder: The two chemicals in the separate bladders are released simultaneously and the resulting blast is what brought about the attack's name. The two chemicals are channeled through separate tubes along the throat and mix upon contact with the air. The resulting explosion is a devastating blast of forward moving unstable hydrogen atoms that reach the limits of their stability and the related energy transfer is what makes up the actual explosion.
Breath of Light: Wyverns have an innate link with the ethereal realm, as their genetic cousins, the dragons have had for centuries. With this in mind, it would be wise to know that a wyvern can channel ethereal energy through its body in a similar manner as that of a particle accelerator. This gives the withheld energy a highly volatile and extremely potent quality. Essentially, all a Light based breath weapon is, is a releasing of that super charged energy. When wyverns die their bodies release what stored up energy remains within their body. Care should be taken to avoid the corpse of a wyvern at all costs and at as much of a distance as possible.
Breath of Lightning: In a similar process as with the Light breath weapon, a wyvern's lightning based breath weapon is the collecting and super charging of electromagnetic energies, which are then released through the mouth, or nostrils.

Length-head/neck: 4'0"
Length-tail: 10'2"

Fourem's Journal© Day 1 - "Encounter"

...As seen through the eyes of Fourem and the texts that he scribes...

Today I start my new journal, the old one having been lost to a fire in the ThornCourt Keep's Smithy Chambers. I awoke today to find that Rinya had already set off on her journey to Doma, though I suspect that now I will not be able to see her until my return. No, instead, today I seek the provisions necessary for my travels to Eden. Since the fires in the Smithy Chambers, our provisions have been lacking and will need to be restored, before the Keep’s stocks are back up to their full standard. However, this is something that my Maelstrom Knights can see to, as I have already sent several of them into RosesMerry ahead of me for the items needed to restore the Smithy’s former state. I have been told that there are possible allies within the walls of this "Overkill" Castle and now I venture to the far off lands in search of this potential alliance. Far be it for me to say that I enjoy travel by Air Ship, however, the means of travel by magic has been limited to only the rare few. I fear that I must suffer this inconvenience for the time being.

The time is 11 standard hours and little to my surprise, Rinya has not returned, though it is not as if this would have been any shock to me; given the distance and means of travel available around the vast mountains of ThornCourt. Nay, I worry these thoughts far too much, she will be here on my return. Besides, in the event something should arise, my beloved Rinya is more than qualified to handle even the most drastic of circomstances. Shiaro, a traveling merchant from Vœttfang Vágr mentioned hearing of a stranded trade party along the route to Þessi Borg, but he was unsure of their fate. While I was purchasing Drow Bread from a nearby vendor, they too had heard the rumor and were quick to bring up the topic before I had even said a word. Clearly, these people do not know me by face, not as if I would expect them to. Besides, why would a lord be in RosesMerry for supplies. Sure, they had nobles here, but you'd think that my armor would substantiate me from the rest. Perhaps, everyone was too wrapped up in the rumors to take the time to notice such a thing. Never the less, I have far more important things to consider, such as where to attain the cheapest riding saddle for a wyvern. I grin to myself at this thought.

I paused to reflect on the advice that Uruin the Shoe-r had bestowed upon me before my departure to Þessi Borg. "Remember your place in Eden, there are far more dangers on the continent than there are here. Be wary of your surroundings at all times." He had said to me, before grinning his sadistic little rodent grin of his, which I find to be an adorable asset for such an aged and hefty man. With that thought in mind, I set out from RosesMerry and the safety of ThornCourt Keep with the image of Þessi Borg's snow covered cliffs close at recollection. The area of Þessi Borg has always fascinated me, its lush, snow covered pine forests end not far off, almost taunting the town down from the mountaintops. So few ever stop to marvel at these simple joys, yet I find that I have far too much time, mentally, to reflect on these trivial things.

Even now Thorn shifts his weight beneath me with discontent. He knows that we are headed for unknown territories, and even he seems distraught with this notion. Our empathic connection, limited as it is, keeps very few of my emotions secret from him. I'm sure, also, that he will be missing Thorn-en; his life partner and nest mate. We are but poor souls separated from our beloved’s. Alas, the need to ever extend our political hospitalities comes before our personal lives and preferences. Surely, I will meet many unique and friendly travelers along the way to Þessi Borg, and possibly even some unsightly ones. However, I am sure of one thing; I will not be at ease until I have reached Eden. Dackakia must be at a loss for words at this point, not knowing where I was, nor were I was to be going. I admit, it is hard for me to not tell him of my destination, or even my departure for that matter. However, it is necessary, as this is something that I must do alone and he would merely insist on accompanying me.

As I exit Thorn Valley, all of Arden opens up before me. Thorn and I share a mutual shudder in awe of such a splendid view and we two pause for a moment to encapsulate the image in its entirety in our minds. Perhaps this is a meager attempt of mortal shells clinging to the rare wonders this world has to offer us, regardless, we enjoy it for what it is as we stare with our jaws hung sloppily. This day had already started off on a sour note, what with tales of lost souls and an absence of my dearest, but all of that seems trivial in the midst of this grandiose display. To our left, we see the Macabre Range stretch off into the horizon toward the ocean. To our right, the flora of Máligr Viðr paints a faint whisper of mischief under the icy blue sky’s of Arden. Lest not forget, that before us stretches the vast plains of the former empire, once home to the ruthless Emperor himself. However cruel he had been, his absence leaves little a trace of his once mighty dictatorship and now little more than the beauty of the land has precedence here. Alas, I will not have the privilege of lounging in the soft mossy fields of the empire, instead I must head westward and on to Þessi Borg, the land of even colder weather.

The time is three general hours and already I have grown wary of my travels. Thorn has sensed this in my heart, though through his feelings I can sense him to be more than willing to fly us there, I deny him such a burden. Nay, we must take this route by foot, besides it would be good for the old goat to stretch his legs. Thorn spears my mind in protest, but as I had not specified whom I was refering to in this thought, I simply send him kind notions and press him onward. I laugh, O, how I laugh. Thorn and I are two of a kind, I think no other two could go through such 'troubling' mental incursions as ours are and still maintain their sanity in the end.

Thorn's unsettled, and I can understand why. I too had been hearing what seemed to be faint voices for some time now. As it is now five general hours, two hours since I last scribed, it would have been around an hour prior to now that he and I had first thought that we had heard an unidentifiable sound. Barely audible, it sounds as if someone is calling for help, but even Thorn's heightened senses cannot seem to trace the source. With no visible presence in sight, I fear that if there truly is someone in need, they may be over looked and passed before we had even known of them.

Four? Yes, four hours since my last entry. Thorn and I have found the source of the unidentifiable sound. Apparently the reason it was so hard to locate, and a reason I had not thought of, was due to the layout of the area. The sharp, jagged cliffs act the way a vast room would, sending sound in all directions. As I laugh to myself mentally at my minor ignorance, Thorn sends another sharp pain into my head in suggestion to stay focused. Clearly, these people are in need of aid, and who am I to refuse them of such if I am able. These people would appear to be traders, as their wagon, broken axle and all, seems to wield many furs and hides of all types. Perhaps these are the aforementioned stranded travelers that I had heard about in RosesMerry, but as I never caught their names the man before me presenting himself would have held little significance to my attaining such knowledge. Yoren, he says his name is, as he presents to me the rest of his party. However, in the confusion of all the voices, I never really did catch the names of the rest. They invite me to join them for some Ni'i tea and Ithra bread while they explain their situation and I humbly accept, seeing no harm in joining them for a meal.

During our conversation, the sun continuously faded from view, as it was brought to my attention that their wagon had been broken from below the undercarriage. However, they had presumed it to have merely been a chance encounter with a rising subterranean animal. As they continued, I, like they had prior, learned quickly that this was a grave misconception. "They came out of no-where. You'd think that in such an open space we would have seen them coming." Yoren, the party's unofficial leader had said to me. His expression was morbid and his attention fell on a nearby tent. I, of course, ignored this as I suspected he would further elaborate, which he did. "They were... Fiends!" He had exclaimed to me with a shrill in his voice that could only be compared to a wyvern roar. I had waited a moment, delving into thought as I processed what he had said to me. Fiends rarely ventured this far south, their preferred habitat far warmer than the slightly higher elevations of the rest of Arden. "Fiends... What were Fiends doing this far south?" I had asked him, as Thorn nudged me from his lounged position to my rear. Something had unsettled him, almost as if the very mention of their name had re-drawn the Fiends from their hiding places in the darkness.

No longer do I have the sun to go by to tell me the time, instead I tell you that it feels to me to have been three hours since my last entry, which would make it now, about ten minutes since I arose from a short nap. As I had not realized, though I had had my suspicions. Our new 'friends' had not been entirely honest with us. Yes, Fiends had attacked them, but what they had failed to mention, was that the Fiends attacked them in 'reaction' to their actions, rather than in initial hostility. I do despise poachers, as do most in the realm of ThornCourt. However, Fiends are not one of the most popular species on the continent. It came to no surprise to me when I found one of the men hacking away at a Fiend hide behind the carriage, thus confirming my suspicion. I would have held them to no ill will, if it had not been for the 'slight' give in the weight of my purse when I awoke from my nap. I was not about to accuse them of stealing, as this would only have caused more trouble than I need deal with, but I would still keep my eye on them more closely in the future.

Night has completely stolen light from the sky and now I set up my own camp further to the west, away from the poachers, near the base of the cliffs of ThornCourt Mountain. I have spread a thin wire around on sticks stuck into the ground with assorted metallic objects on them as to give me somewhat of a warning to approaching dangers. Thorn, curled up against the cliff wall and around me, heaves heavily in the thicker air than that of what he is used to. I suppose the both of us will have some adapting to do along our journey. Perhaps tommorow I will scold Thorn for not guarding me more diligently, when one of the poachers helped himself to a few coins from my purse, but as for now... I rest.
