.:. History .:.

Little to nothing has been revealed to public concerning Eri's past. What is known, however, is that the name "Eri Tetsuken" is not her true name. Her true name, "Mizuki Kato," has since been abandoned. Mizuki was born and raised in Cizok, an oriental nation south of the desert land of Xexoria. Granted a life just short of luxury provided by a single mother working as a middle class Geisha, Mizuki rarely encountered many social or economic issues in her young life. Much time was spent in private, however, due to a natural physical trait in growing pink colored hair. As precaution towards prejudice oriented violence, she was taught Kendo at a young age, and was given enough training from her multi-skilled mother and sister in order to surpass many other Kendo specialists in the village by the age of nine.

Due to circumstances unknown, Mizuki was chased away from her village at the age of eighteen, thereby changing her name to "Eri Tetsuken" in order to avoid conflict. It was only a short period of time in which she traveled alone, less than three weeks, approximately. By the end of these three weeks, she encountered a man named Shin Shiden, as he was being run out of his home city. . . the very capital of Cizok. Confused by locals as a compatriot of Shin's, she became a target of their aggression, and was thus forced to escape with the man. For nearly a year and a half, Eri traveled alongside of Shin. During this time, Eri had--reluctantly--learned how to hone her already formidable martial arts talents for the sake of survival, including learning how to kill. The relationship between Eri and Shin was never truly defined, but towards the end, it was nothing short of a romantic involvement. Inevitably, after much discontent, disagreement, and fighting, Eri left Shin, spitefully stealing his shirt in the process.

Pursued by mercenaries from Algeroth and Cizok both, Eri fled north to Xexoria, inevitably becoming part of the life of Cyril Shariph. Much of an adventure was spent with him, as they toggled between each-other's pasts, coincidentally leaving the other to deal with the issues, usually due to physical injury. Eri met Shin Shiden twice during the two years that she spent with Cyril, one which included him working as a bodyguard to one of Cyril's former gang acquaintances. However, much to the surprise of both parties, Eri and Cyril slept together, with Eri becoming pregnant. Eventually, she encountered Shin Shiden once again, but the physical confrontation between the two lead to the death of her unborn child. Another year and a half was spent with Cyril after this, until a final confrontation between past enemies from her travels with Shin confirmed to her that she was still incapable of settling down. Regretfully, Eri left Cyril--for his own good, of course--, but promised to return to him once she had cleansed herself of personal demons.

While following a lead on Shin Shiden--whom she was targeting to kill or maim in revenge--Eri once again encountered pursuers after an apparent bounty on her head, and was thus ambushed in a darker forest in Darokin. Though she escaped, she was badly injured. She lost consciousness in that bleak place, and by all means, should have died. She had awoken in a dojo, and came to know it as a prison. None there saw her as an equal, and seemed to be poised and ready to kill her at a moment's notice. Months after Eri's awakening in the dojo, she made an attempt to escape which deemed her worthy of respect. Two members of the dojo had been killed, all of whom had fought her directly. Her manner of attacking was practically invisible, but was later found out to be the manipulation of extremely fine, nearly invisible threads that allowed her to sever the heads of the two enemies without giving them a chance to even see the attack. Accepted within the dojo afterwards, she honed this skill and begun living amongst the mysterious brigade as one of the only kunoichi to have been in their presence.

Eventually, after only a year in the ranks of the Hidden Dojo--the group of assassins which Eri had been acquainted--she was even elevated in rank to one of the elite "Elders" of the dojo. She justified this change of lifestyle as penance for her prior misdeeds, and always undertook jobs which ended in the deaths of the extremely unjust. As an elder of the Hidden Faction, Eri was given the freedom to do nearly whatever she pleased. The result was the undertaking of a secretary job for one of the false mercenary posts in a nearby village, where Eri had the responsibility to sort out incoming contracts. Therein, she was capable of claiming whichever contract she thought the most of. . . generally having to do with her own person history or contracts which resulted in the general aide of a populous.

But, much changed after a fateful contract of war dealing with Algeroth, which Eri inevitably fought alongside fellow elder, Heita, to survive and escape the war-torn country. Her job was to dispatch the black dragon, Soong, the leader of an armed force known as the Covenant of Tribes, which had been invading Algeroth and tearing into it mercilessly. Eri managed to mortally wound the dragon, but he escaped, leaving her severely wounded. When Heita and Eri escaped and returned to the Hidden Faction's dojo, they were greeted with general disarray and chaos. Tokkaido, the Master of the Hidden Faction, had not returned from battle and was assumed dead. Heita forcibly advanced his position to Master in Tokkaido's absence, and Eri--due to wounds obtained in the Algeroth contract--was temporarily removed from her position as "secretary" of the mock mercenary guild. As it stands, she--and the rest of the Hidden Faction--have become idle and waste away, for without Tokkaido and the shut-down of many "mercenary guilds," contracts and jobs ceased coming to the dojo.

.:. Demeanor .:.

A facade is presented to her assassin brethren: Eri is unsympathetic and cruel. Morals have no meaning in her vocabulary, and she will do just about anything to kill her target. However, those that make lude remarks towards her are often without one of two heads shortly afterwards. She has an extremely short fuse and is very competitive, often times seeing death as a "game," and rivaling with other assassins of the dojo to see who can take the kill first. As a ruse, it is generally a success, and many in the mysterious group of assassins consider her to be heartless and cold in all respects. What remains true is an complete and total lack of patience and competitive nature, two aspects which were developed over time and many stressful life events. Eri is, however, a compassionate human being by nature; over age, that is one thing that never changed. Testament to this is the fact that she never takes jobs that require the murder of innocent people; Eri usually takes contracts that result in the deaths of criminals and morally unjustified individuals.

.:. Battle Information .:.

Kato satsugai-ryu: "Kato killing art;" this is Eri's specialized, unique ability which sets her apart from other martial artists. It is a style passed down only through the bloodline of the Kato house. It has multiple sub-styles, however, of which Eri knows only one.
-- Oni-gekiha kata: Eri's trained killing art. This style of combat is a sub-style of Kato satsugai-ryu; it can depend upon either weapon or bare-handed combat. This sub-style boasts ridiculous strength, even if the user has a small frame. When striking, users of this style will hit twice rather than once, but in such a split-second time that it only registers as one single hit. When punching, for example, the first hit will be somewhat light, followed by a quick vibration and second hit--during this, the hand does not draw back beyond three millimeters before striking again. The first blow acts to weaken the spot that was struck, while the second blow pounds a significant amount of the user's strength into the weakened spot, thereby causing almost twice the damage than what would have otherwise been a simple punch.

Learned Chakras
-- Hagane shigai: Materializes the user's Qi and wraps it around the body; creates a hardened, invisible shell over the skin. Non-elemental.
-- Hitou isei no shakuhou: Forcefully releases Qi from one point on the user's body. Non-elemental.
-- Shinigami no ken: Manifests the user's Qi into a slicing, blade-like attack. Effects a target area. Non-elemental.
-- Tenshu no amari, metsubou: Detonates the remnants of released Qi. Non-elemental.

.:. Flaws .:.

Easily irritated
Hunted/high bounty on her head ( cannot reveal real name or identity )
Extremely cocky
Minimal morals
Adrenaline imbalance ( her body sometimes produces spikes of adrenaline which makes Eri extremely aggressive, but leaves her almost completely defenseless)
