The island sits twenty miles south of the Sythinian Plateau-- a landmass which was, coincidentally, not entirely dominated by Sythinia, which was almost exclusively a city-state of a country. Despite the proximity of the two countries, they'd never made contact with one another. Truth be told, the island country of Igoras had no contacts outside of fellow island nations to the south.

Igorath Island, on which the small country resided, was only large enough to contain a single large city--the capital of Igoras, the city of Esnohia--and a few small villages, and that was more than enough for the people of Igoras.

Architecturally, they're built for the heat they must endure all around the year. Houses are traditionally built out of wood and straw, and are built specifically with holes within, to allow homes to experience cool ocean evenings. In Esnohia, structures are traditionally built out of stone, primarily to have stability during hurricane seasons--after all, Esnohia is hit by a hurricane almost every year, while villages are downwind from the most common hurricane paths.

Ethnically, its people weren't too distant from Cizok. More than likely both Cizok and Igoras stemmed from the same ancestry, but differed split at some point in time, and their civilizations, almost half a world away, evolved in completely different directions. Cizok's people were fair skinned and traditionally short compared to those of Algerothian background, while those of Igoras had very similar facial features as Cizokians, but had much darker skin at birth--always appearing as if they had a dark tan, and were somewhat taller. Likewise, their languages were similar in a handful of ways, but differed drastically.

And while Cizok took steps to modernizing itself, however slow and steady they may be, Igoras remained where its people were most comfortable: an organized lifestyle devoid of technologies, that barely even understood the concept of magic. Some may have use of it, but there were only few. Those that did, though, were treated like kings--and more often than not, those few that could wield magic like a warrior wielded a spear wound up sitting on the throne and commanding Igoras as its monarch.
