Perfect.

Do you guys have character sheets or anything like that that I can look at and get a feel for.

Also. I assume that based on where this RP takes place that it all happens before 'The End'?

No character sheets. I'm working on getting a Faery Realm guildline post together with links and a general list of do's and don'ts. I've been out of the house all day so this is the first time I've had a chance to sit down and think lol.

Right now what we *need* are Unseelie. We only have two people besides myself rolling that ball around. That storyline is going to hit the proverbial fan when Sebilla is kidnapped. It'll go crazy once that happens and Igraine and Thorin are lured into the trap. So making an Unseelie Fae type creature would be highly recommended.

Some quick go-to ideas for Unseelie would be:

Banshee (we have two of those)

Red Cap ( aka: Far Darrig, Fear Dearg, Fear Dearc)

Gean-canach: Ireland. "Love talker", a solitary faery who personifies love and idleness. He appears with dudeen (pipe) in his mouth. It is very unlucky to meet him. (for our purposes it would be Unseelie, he's not necessarily classified as such, but it works)

Phouka (pooka): Ireland. It can take various animal forms and is considered dangerous.

There are others listed here: http://gwion.tripod.com/index21.html and other places. I'll have a more comprehensive list when I get the Seelie/Unseelie courts up. The name of the game for Unseelie though is evil, malevolent, unlucky.

You can also play a human/Utopian in the Human World from anywhere on Utopia. They're sorely under represented in the RP and we need more human world interaction.

**Super important note to anyone that is applying to this RP** The Unseelie Court is it's own "realm" just like the Seelie Court (Faerie Realm) is it's own realm. The Unseelie have more desire to be with the Human world but are restricted to certain hours of the night (between 12 and 3). You would be insane to cross over into the Unseelie Court as a human/Utopian BUT you can and they want you to. You would die without a guide going into the Faerie Realm. It's extremely well guarded and without a person that knows how to use the magick the character will die. Currently only Faerie Realm residents, Kahlan Lothair, and Igraine Lothair have the abilities required to move freely between the Faerie Realm and the Human World.

The Unseelie Court cannot get into the Faerie Realm! This is the whole drive behind the Unseelie Court rebellion! Just an FYI.

*ends novel* Sorry, some of this will be put together later in a whole guideline post!

Am I correct in assuming that this storyline roughly follows the novels? It took me a moment to realize the familiarity.

I don't know what you mean by novels, unless you are talking about our extensive RP history with the character's? They are our own creation and don't come from any books.

Novels by Laurell K. Hamilton? Not the characters, but the concepts of Seelie and Unseelie?

The Seelie and Unseelie courts come from mythologies (typically Celtic). They are called other things to other people and they can contain a lot of different creatures between them. I'm largely working off the Celtic cycle, though I do throw in other things (Norse mythologies/creatures, etc.) when needed.

While the ideas aren't new, the way I've thrown them together will be...different. For example in most lore, the Unseelie Court isn't necessarily evil, just a bunch of tricksters. For my purposes, and the purposes of the RP that we're pushing, the Unseelie Court is the court of nightmares. It is evil, it is unsavory, it is everything that makes you not want to be out after dark.

The Seelie Court runs by stricter guidelines but is also dangerous in a whole different way. They're more apt to lure you into their realm and keep you there under until you're old and grey and don't remember who you are. For my purposes they're more neutral-good. You'll see them in the human world from time to time but they prefer being in their own realm, away from all of the pain and suffering that occurs in the human world. Also, they would age significantly in the human world, away from their core magicks, but they can stay for short periods without ill effect (ex: 1 month at the MOST).

It is important to remember that the Seelie and Unseelie courts are not just elves, they're other things as well. They may be called Dark Fae/Light Fae, and in some cases Tuatha Dé Danann (Irish). It's also important to know that a lot of this is going to end up being my interpretation of the two sides -- and I may stick one type of Faery on one side when typically it isn't classified as such.

Ahh, I see.

Well, I am going to play a human/utopian. I'm partial to being the 'normal' guy. They are generally under played.

What is your take on magic? Such as the rules/laws/restrictions, it's use and guideline for items?

Sorry for all the question! I just don't want to walk in and mess up anything and/or break any rules.

Typical Utopian/Dystopian rules. No god modding, no ZOMG UBER POWERZ lol. We're under the assumption that power usage drains energy, typical energy transfer, but if there is enough innate power within a realm then it's okay to think constant mild magic usage wouldn't drain you a lot (ex: faerie/unseelie realms). That is not to say that you wouldn't experience some drain on your body, it just might be something the character could power through, but would eventually have to take a rest (just use some guidelines for yourself such as: Did you use a lot of magic, a little magic, a moderate amount? How would that affect the stamina of your character? Are you a master mage in the human world? Are you just learning? That kind of thing)!

With regards to objects, you'd just have to let us know what it is you intend to do with the magical object. If you want it to impact the storyline as a whole, or the world as a whole, then clear it with us to make sure it fits in with different types of magic that might be found in the realms. Also, before you ask, we're still developing the different styles of magick for the Seelie and Unseelie courts :D!

Bring on the humans, we can always have lots of fun with them ;)!

Hmm. Sounds perfect, a good structure with enough freedom for creativity!

I have the character in mind now, I'll just need to make a history that highlight the important things in his life thus far. I'll then fill the rest in as we go. I'll throw a link on here once it's complete.

I have motivation for the character as well, which will be described in the back story. He'll just need some help getting into the plot!

-Off to create!!-

Here is what I got so far.

The history is just a rough draft, I'm going to finish it then go back through and add more detail, change wording, etc.

But, this should give you rough estimate of the character so far...

Perfecto!

I know where his story leads him, however, I am not sure as to what the best way to get him involved in the plot would be.

You can just leap in like Herald, just be aware that you might be stalked by Thorin and brought to Igraine lol. It's probably best to avoid the Unseelie until you figure out which side of the Good/Evil/Neutral coin you're going to land on
