Welcoming Arrivals and Explaining the Three Gifts.

An island hidden in this pocket of reality. It is said the only way to find it is to become extremely lost or to be invited by the king, himself. Followers of The King of The Rift will be drawn here as if by a strong magnetic pull.

(oh god, a month? seriously? I'm a douche, no two ways about it xD; )

"It was created under very unfortunate circumstances, indeed. I'm afraid it may be too sad of a story for you to hear on a happy day like this. Of course, the subject matter may not be quite proper, but it was certainly the only proper present I could give." Cornelius felt guilty for not speaking the whole truth, but how would it sound if you said 'well I wasn't expecting to give you a present at all, but then I decided to give you one anyways, blah blah'. He shook his head, finding himself, for what seemed to be the second or third time today, to be thinking far too much.

He was silent a little while longer before he spoke again.
"It was a very cold and barren island. In the far corners of the world. 'Evanlace' is the name we gave it, I do not know if someone else had named it before. It is a place of sadness, regret and remorse, now - the entire island is stained with evil." Cornelius referred to the blood as evil, not wanting to become too graphic and frighten the child. He brought his hands together and rubbed them as if he were cold, the memory chilling him. He did look sad, even the naturally warm island feelings didn't reach him when he recalled the memory.

"Perhaps I should tell you at a later time," he spoke this part quickly, forcing a smile, "As I did say before, it is far too sad to tell such a story on a happy day like this." Cornelius glanced behind himself hopefully, "You see, I'm holding up the line as well. I'm sorry, young miss.. er.. I shall hopefully speak with you again on a bit of a lighter note?"

As he stood he made to turn away but paused,
"My name is Cornelius, by the way. Cornelius Orrig."

((Need to get back into this. Sorry for the minimal length of this reply.))

"It's okay!" Eroina replied, "The song was beautiful! Even if it was sad, it was still written so well and you sang it great! I loved it."

She simply enjoyed songs and stories, happy or sad. This one just so happened to be sad, though it was also quite a true story. The girl had simply been curious, that was all. She didn't mind hearing about depressing stories, even if it made her a bit sad to hear about those sorts of atrocities in the world--in part, she simply didn't understand most of those atrocities, and thereby could not feel too much empathy. Nonetheless, a story was a story, and maybe he could elaborate a bit if she saw him again!

Cornelius Orrig--such an outlandish name. He'd fit right in here in Persistencia! Then, he might even be able to forget all of his troubles and his pain. Eroina had it in her to invite him to live there next time she saw him! If she saw him again. Well, maybe she would, sometime when she had the chance to bounce around the party and socialize at will. She could only be a princess for so long.

"I'm Eroina," she replied, "It's really great to meet you, Cornelius!"

Indeed, there were still quite a few guests for her to meet--quite a few new friends to make! And Eroina was excited for every one of them.
