It was silent, deathly so. Kali never surrounded herself in silence, but tonight was a bit different. No one would ever make a difference around here, because no one cared enough to. It wasn't right, it wasn't fair, and they'd have had to dragged that girl over Kalis dead body tonight if things had continued on the path they were on. And why? Because these people didn't have the right to judge a young woman based on her clothing, or any other outward appearance she may or may not have.

It wasn't only woman with Kali though, it was men too. No one should have to live in fear about what they wear, or things of that nature because a group of people say it's wrong. She washed, and washed again. Something about those mens eyes made her feel dirty. A filth that seemed to not come off.

It seemed like hours really, but it was a little more then 30 minutes. She wrapped tightly in a towel and without a word, she went straight to her room. Only a few moments later she emerged in the living room, her body adorned with a long nightgown. With a plop, she sat on the opposite end of the couch as Recheov.

“I'm sorry....”

Recheov sat in idle wait as Kali bathed. He didn't feel tired. He didn't even feel a bit excited when she left the bathroom, which was saying something. Kali was an attractive woman, and Recheov had an affinity for attractive women (guilt not withstanding, of course). He was just . . . so confused . . .

He only looked at her when she spoke to him. By then she had her nightgown on, and under any other circumstances, he might have made an ironic pass off just then.

"For wot?" he said with a wrinkled brow.

Kali certainly confused him, but that was hardly reason to apologize. Thus far, she'd done nothing that he took personally. No reason to apologize, right?

She didn't want to look at him. So many thoughts ran through her mind, and while the current situation demanded her to be attentive, she simply couldn't shake the taste of his lips upon hers from earlier, and this thought caused a blush to steal her features. A fact she did not try to hide.

“That situation could have became very ugly. I shouldn't have asserted myself in that with you. It's trouble I'm sure you don't need.” She had left her raven locks down, and chaotically it cascaded down her shoulders.

She took the chance to change the subject. Honestly she couldn't make much out of the thoughts that were wreaking havoc in her mind. “By the way, dinner really was lovely. Thank you.” Slowly, careful to be discreet...which was totally outta characteristic for Kali...she pulled her knees up and tugged her long gown down over her legs.

Could have? He wanted to say.

In reality, it had become pretty ugly. He had to step in and everything. But that still wasn't enough to merit an apology, not in his eyes. He'd done more than enough to deserve a little hell on his end, even if the "hell" in question was just a minor inconvenience--making sure those gentlemen didn't follow him and Kali, that is. Kali, however, wasn't at all an inconvenience. Really, she was probably the whole reason he hadn't started walking again. It was nice to have a place to go and someone to give a damn if you were there or not.

"Y'welcome," Recheov said with a nod, "Glad y'liked it."

Without giving it much thought, Recheov rested his arm across the top of the couch, perhaps just enough to unknowingly brush his fingers across Kali's shoulder.
