Blissful Indifference

Once a great desert nation, the nation of Xexoria suffered a great loss after the Apocalypse of Utopia. Now an Island nation, Xexoria is going through great changes.

"I'm comfortable with it." Amara said quietly and tightened her grip around Cambria's hand. She wasn't sure if she needed more contact than that so she pressed closer to him, thinking that she might wrap her arms around him. About the time that she thought about this scenario they were off like a rocket.

Amara had obviously not really understood what being 'intangible' meant. She tried to close her eyes against the rush of sensory information, but they too were intangible and she could still see everything that was going on. She gasped and it was lost in the roar of sound that surrounded him. Her hand tightened even harder around Cambria's as they were thrown through the air toward the general direction of their destination.

Familiar things started flying by them, and it took the Bocan a second to really comprehend what these things were. Trees. Suddenly she was extremely thankful for being intangible as limbs passed right through her body that would have otherwise caught her and mangled her. As they neared the ground Amara wrapped her arms around Cambria in an attempt to brace for impact.

Hitting the ground was like a rock skipping across concrete. The impact jarred Amara into letting go of Cambria. She felt herself stumble and instinctively tuck her body to roll. She came to a stop just shy of the trunk of a tree. Her world spun for a few short seconds and she though, briefly and not without a moderate amount of humility, that she might be very sick all over the loamy forest floor. The ground being so soft would soften any blow they might have recieved from landing too roughly.

Amara laid on the ground for a while, covered in leaves and sticks and pine needles -- but not really caring very much. She took a few slow deep breaths to even out her heartbeat and looked over to where she thought Cambria might be. It felt like her body was whole enough and not broken, but she didn't really want to move. Amara felt the world might lurch in a very sickening manner and she would end up being sick despite her best efforts to resist.

"How on earth do you travel like that? I hope the ringing in my ears goes away soon, I can barely hear the squirrels scamper in the loam!" From her best guess they were actually right on the edge of the deepest part of the woods. That would save them a load of time getting to the Unseelie Realm at least.

Cambria ignored the world screaming by him, and relied on the smells of the wild as they passed through them at hyper speed. He had only just realized they were close enough to dismount when Amara squeezed him tightly, preventing him from slowing their descent. The only option left to him was to tuck into his body, and after the first or second impact their bodies rattled apart, sending them spiraling away from each other. He was too disoriented to avoid the brush and trees as he railed through them, and too drained from phasing the pair of them to prevent the damage.

It was only when he snapped through a small thicket of young saplings did he finally come to a stop. He was miserably dizzy, and he had a strong suspicion he had sprained something as he tried to stand. He brushed the decaying foliage that made up the forest floor from his bare chest, and steadied himself, trying to get his relative position versus Amara's.

It was not long before he heard her staggering steps coming toward him, and so he leaned against a nearby tree, leaning his head back and taking several deep breaths to make sure he had not broken any ribs.

" It's much easier when I can see and am not carrying another person. Let's just get where we're going so I can take this blindfold off. I can't trust my other senses until I recover from the crash. "
