Demeanor: It is extremely difficult to befriend Daisuke Tetsuken. He is considered by most people an unpleasant and angry fellow, rarely ever content where he is or with who he is around. At the very least, he rarely shows his contentment. His constant frown and/or sneer is almost comical at times, especially when he is making a conscious effort to show displeasure towards something or the rather that actually makes him happy. He is not without humor, however, but it is a fairly dry sense of humor, sometimes bordering on morbid. Despite all this, Daisuke is extremely protective of companions, and will go through most any trial for the sake of a companion (he will more than likely deny this, however, claiming to have nothing else better to do at the time).
History: Son of Uematsu Tetsuken, a former Samurai under the command of Shogun Gardini, Daisuke and his family never had any significant financial trouble. His father was never quite around, though, as the elite Samurai was on duty for a majority of Daisuke's life. It was not until the age of seventeen when Uematsu began to become less and less needed upon the battlefield. For two years, Uematsu regained the bond with his family that was once lost, though the stubborn Daisuke did not begin to open up to his father until a year after the Samurai's return. A year following his father's return, he was ushered to join the Cizok Campus of the Manarina Mage Academy.
Only weeks after Daisuke's apprenticeship began, Uematsu was ordered to engage in an on-going mission: to capture Shin Shiden and Mizuki Kato. Uematsu did not succeed in this, and after many failures, he was given his final order: to commit seppekku. Daisuke did not hear of his father's suicide until weeks following the event.
Throughout the years of his awkward stay in the Manarina campus, Daisuke became particularly skilled with the abilities of Chakra-- the command over spiritual force. Though he could not manipulate his own Qi (spiritual force), he was extremely adept in "borrowing" Qi from the forces of nature and the planet itself. With this, Daisuke can release the Qi through Chakra techniques, but is restricted by his own ability to command them. Using any techniques more powerful than what he can control risk his life, especially in regions with large Qi density. Before he could learn to control his own Qi, Daisuke was expelled from the Academy for an unknown reason.
