Capra Avenue

The main seaport of Xexoria. Outside the city, brief sections of farmland quickly give way to miles upon miles of desert dunes. Among the cliffs and sands lie ancient ziggurats and structures, but inside the city lies ancient knowledge...

Prospero would find himself in quite a different land once he reached Rhakotis. Here... Time was different. Many people still practiced older ways, and knowledge came easily, but unreliably. Storytelling, even on the streets of the hot desert day, was still considered an art form, and it wasn't unreasonable to see a performer tell an old folk story on a corner, a tale certainly containing at least a few kernels of truth...

The city itself, however, was poor. The water supplied by the ocean was difficult to use, and food wasn't abundant by any measure. Old buildings endured without paint or maintenance, tributes to an ancient past. And it was in a place such as this that Prospero would arrive. 6 Capra Avenue: The Sand Devil. A large but neglected building, it seemed to be an inn and general meeting place.

Inside, a common room with tables and chairs greeted Prospero. The place was mostly empty, except for a sullen clerk and an older man, his face mostly covered with a hooded robe in a far corner of the room. The clerk didn't even look up when Prospero entered, more content to wait for the newcomer to approach him...

As Dario walked into the inn he would notice several things. First, that his limbs were starting to take on a dull pain, a signal he had come to interpret as the decay process beginning rapidly. This would mean that he would need to go body farming, as he called it, and rather soon. Second, that the place was mostly empty. This would mean he could relax a little, as there were few potential threats around. Third and finally, that he had very little to eat or drink on the voyage. This would mean that he would need to get some food soon, but that could wait a while he had a job to do.

Dario would walk up to the man in the cloak at the corner of the room, interpreting his dress and mannerism as those of a cliched mysterious informant. Pulling up a chair, he would sit across the table from the hooded man. Having dropped his black duffel bag on his left side and having made sure he had at least one weapon on his person, he would ask with a smirk: "You wouldn't happen to know any Bruno around these parts, would ya? I've come an awfully long way to see him."
