Bandit's Nest

Once a great desert nation, the nation of Xexoria suffered a great loss after the Apocalypse of Utopia. Now an Island nation, Xexoria is going through great changes.

She looked down on the meager food and sighed. "And you frown on my idea of a meal"

She handed the man the coins thinking of what she could whip up. She looked around unhappily seeing that there were no spices.

I have no issue with hunting. The meat would be fresher at least....and cleaner.

She was glad the shopping was done at least. Now she could finally head back...home? Hmmm. She didn't think she was ready to call a cave her home. "Let's get out of here. I'll make dinner and you can teach me how to fight."

“Yea, that’s probably the best Idea, we don’t want to end up stuck here when night comes, that’s when all the bad things come out.” he said with a chuckle.

“Do you believe in monsters?” The Jester said in a spooky tone. As he hefted the sack off of the ground and tossed it easily to Ari. “Carry it on your head, unless you feel like being stoned to death by the townies.”

“Don’t grip neither, once we are out of this shit hole we you can beat me up all you want, hell I kind of enjoy it>“

The Jester began trotting off, heading to the main road and towards the western wall( Wall: see pile of rocks)

“Tell me, have you ever killed a man?” A fair enough question, but what Ari would find so chilling is that he was not joking, in fact he was speaking as if he were talking about the weather?

She forced a laugh "Of course not" she replied, his tone of voice making her nervous. She glanced around. "The sun is getting rather low. Don't want to met any of these spookies you speak of."

It was hard to balance a sack full of food atop the headdress, but she somehow managed and managed to stay close by his side.

She looked at him rather stunned "I-I've never had to kill anyone" She was quiet before pulling a question of her own out of the blue "What is your name?"

“I told you my name already, The Jester. Oh wait you mean the name my parents gave me don’t you. Well” He said pausing for a moment, as if choosing his next set of words very carefully. “I don’t really remember, my parents died when I was very young. I have been The Jester for as long as I could remember.”

“And don’t worry about having to kill any body, I’ll try to make sure you never have to do it, just be ready to at all times okay?” The Jester was never one who was up for senseless murder, but he had to end a life or too in the past. It was never something he encouraged, but if you had to you had to.

“Besides what is a name any way. “Names hold power over people, they can find your family, track you down. A name is weakness. Really and truthfully we need to give you a nick name. What was it you called your self back in Corania?”

She nodded hoping she would never have to. For a girl raised in a castle her whole life, she had experienced a lot, but she didn't want taking a life to be one of those things.

She gave him a sympathetic look. "I never knew my folks either."

She disagreed "I think a name is very important. Even if it's one you give yourself. A name is what sums up a person, it gives you the image of a face, it tells a story..."

She shrugged and carried on for a few more yards.

"Well may I ask how you earned your title, Jes?" she asked trying to make his name more casual. After all, he'd been calling her Ari when her formal name was Armaris or even The Lady of they were going by titles now.

“Well, it was given to me by a local pasha when I was about fourteen. He thought I was funny, so he said I was the Jester of his kingly court. The name stuck with me, and well I have gotten rather fond of it.”

They Then exited the city and got started walking back to the Jester’s Lair. “But you do have a point, what do you think my name sums up about me?” He said shifting a smile to her, and holding his hand out to carry the meat and bread.”

The Jester would continue his walk and banter with Ari, until the reach the Bandit’s nest.
