Kali is able to sustain a human form (basically her same appearance, except hair appears more 'human' and obviously the presence of legs!) until she wishes not to any longer. However, in some cases--becoming soaked or submerged to a degree in water--her original, native form can involuntarily return. Also, high emotional states have been known to sometimes influence the transition between the two forms.
