Just like the woman, the delicate paper fan was now soiled. Soren stiffened his back at the display- it was something he had never seen before. With all maturity and responsibility aside, he naturally felt attracted to her. Her dance toward him, was not a private one, and he felt the embarrassment swell. But that was not the only thing swelling- he was becoming ridiculously strained under the condition!

He pulled the woman aside, picking up the dirtied fan. Soren had never met a woman like this before, so he could only take pity on her actions. Makoto would see him scribbling something on the pice of paper and witness him acting flirtatious. All the while talking with the strange woman, he acted secretive with her, making sure that Makoto wouldn't eavesdrop.

He had to make sure that this woman felt like top priority. Soren motioned for the woman to act natural, whispering something sweet and promising in her ear. The woman would see an address on the smudged fan, but it was legible enough to find directions. He had promised to ditch the one with him, in hopes of finding them a private room, but it would not be the type of room she had been expecting.

Soren was sending her to a safehouse- one that would remind the prostitute of her behavior. She would find herself in a difficult situation: obey the house rules, or be back on the street begging. Knowing her situation, he doubted that she would be back on the street again.

Walking awkardly next to Makoto, he didn't say another word about the incident- he was just glad that his pants were comfortable again.

Makoto didn't pay much attention to the exchange. She did watch, though. She even rolled her eyes.

The woman seemed to be flattered until she got the directions to the safehouse. She took the fan, offering Soren an icy 'Thank you', then walked away.

Makoto approached, then sighed. "You can't save them all." She muttered, guiding Soren towards an inn.

After a week of travel, Makoto and Soren would arrive at the temple in Kuba. Kuba was a small village, but the temple was rather large. It was less of a wide, sprawling grouping of buildings, but more like a tall building. It was built around a tree, almost giving it the illusion that it was a living being. Makoto seemed thrilled to be back at the temple.

"Home sweet home." She smiled, leading Soren up a flight of stairs towards the entrance. "They call it the Temple of Sun Wukang. Sun Wukang is the Monkey King. The Emperor comes here a lot."
